Expert explains why the West is militarising

In his talk with Alfa Radio, analyst of the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research Aleksei Avdonin explained why the collective West is militarising the territory of some European states

The expert noted that the Ukrainian project has led to the need for the collective West to maintain a militarisation regime in the next few years, “This was done because it is the focus on war, the purchase of military equipment, the allocation of huge budgetary resources for the military industry that makes it possible to solve current economic and financial problems both in Europe and in the countries of the Anglo-Saxon world – the USA and Britain. Therefore, the topic of militarisation is an economic factor for them. They will promote it, but the military component and the theme of constant war, the threat from a certain state cannot exist without Russia. However, it’s necessary to understand that the Russian Federation now is not the same state that it was in the 1990s, when control over its resources was established. Now Russia is a country that declares its sovereignty, its independent foreign policy, and is focused on strengthening integration processes within the post-Soviet space and within the SCO and BRICS. All this arouses extreme wariness in the West, forcing it to switch to aggressive military instruments in the implementation of foreign policy.”

The analyst noted that this is being done by Western countries in order to scare the rest of the world and declare that they retain control over world politics and the economy, “But at the same time, all countries of the world understand that these are already echoes of the former empire. The Anglo-Saxon Empire is currently beginning to lose its economic growth and financial stability. They are experiencing more and more crises. When we talk about the escalation of the situation in our region, we must understand perfectly well that this is a kind of attempt by the US, UK, and European countries to settle the internal problems of the EU and NATO at the expense of Russia and Belarus. That’s why our task is to maximise the unification of our forces and means within the framework of the Union State, CSTO, EAEU, CIS, SCO in order to have, firstly, a strong economic basis, and secondly, strong political and military institutions that could ensure the security and peaceful development of our sovereign states.”
