Belarus Segodnya Publishing House

The Belarus Segodnya Publishing House is affiliated with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus. It is a modern multi-faceted holding company.

In 1927, the Rabochy newspaper was first published and later it was renamed into Sovetskaya Belorussiya. On February 22nd, 1943, the Central Committee of the BSSR Communist Party adopted a resolution which envisaged publishing of Sovetskaya Belorussiya in Belarusian and Russian. At that time, it was an official newspaper of the Central Committee of the BSSR Communist Party, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet and the BSSR Council of People's Commissars. In 1964, Sovetskaya Belorussiya was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour.

On January 18th, 2000, the newspaper was printed in full colour for the first time.

In 2013, a media holding company focusing on political and social issues was set up – to unite the country’s five major publications: SB. Belarus Segodnya, Narodnaya Gazeta, Respublika, Selskaya Gazeta and Znamya Yunosti.

In 2015, Alfa Radio – one of Belarus’ oldest radio stations – joined the holding company.

In September 2018, the organisation was renamed and is now known as the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House.

In December 2018, the Publishing House launched the country’s first online media: sb.by.
