“Prime Minister Dorin Recean and US Ambassador Kent Logsdon delivered welcoming speeches at the second meeting of the Working Group on Cybersecurity of Moldova's Critical Infrastructure. Ambassador Logsdon also announced the gratuitous transfer of cybersecurity equipment to the Moldovan government, including software and configuration support equipment, in the amount of about $600 thousand,” the Embassy informed, noting that the received equipment will enable the republic to ensure an additional level of security.

Some Russian media have already been banned in Moldova. Since February 26th, 2022, the republic's security service has blocked Sputnik Moldova, and since March 7th – the agency's radio broadcasting station. The Russian Embassy condemned this decision and called it biased and politicised. In addition, such Russian-language channels as Primul in Moldova, RTR Moldova, Accent TV, NTV Moldova, TV6 and Orhei TV stopped broadcasting in Moldova. According to republic’s authorities, these channels can misinform the people about the events in the country and in Ukraine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that the Russian authorities see Moldova's decision as an act of political censorship, calling such actions ‘an outrage on the principle of media pluralism’ and a restriction on the right to freedom of access to information.
