The Washington Post: Ukraine is building wooden decoys of HIMARS, trying to save the real ones
The Ukrainian military are building wooden replicas of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to mislead the Russian army – as noted by unnamed sources familiar with the situation, RIA Novosti reports
Moreover, the Washington Post newspaper cited pictures of wooden replicas of the US long-range rocket systems.
Washington provided Kiev with about two dozen HIMARS systems as military aid, along with guided missiles with a range of up to 80km.
On August 24th, Mykhailo Podolyak, the Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced that Kiev would receive 50 American HIMARS systems – worth $200m. According to him, this aid package will change the course of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
