State Duma deputy Artem Turov, in his talk with 1tv.ru, named two main goals pursued by the United States in the Ukrainian conflict
As the deputy noted, there are currently serious problems in the US domestic politics.
“For the US, the main task was to transfer the attention of society from internal problems to the external circuit. The conflict in Ukraine is very beneficial to the United States of America for two reasons. On the one hand, as I said, this is the diversion of the attention of citizens, including the citizens of the allies, to an external enemy. The second point is that the US is trying to create a protracted conflict so that Russia can get bogged down in it,” added Artem Turov.
He stressed that the Russian military is successfully destroying the equipment that Kiev receives from the West.
“The so-called counter-offensive, which has been talked about for several months, does not begin, because our troops are successfully solving their tasks. I think that all the equipment that is in service with NATO will sooner or later be given to Ukraine. But our units are ready for it. We will do our best to protect our citizens and territories,” the deputy stated.
