All attempts of talks between Russia and Ukraine to resolve the conflict were thwarted by the US order to Kiev – as stated by Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports

Patrushev said that Russia and Western countries have a fundamentally different approach to Ukraine.

“It has been noted more than once that the United States and its allies intend to fight to the last Ukrainian, because for them the people of this country are just a bargaining chip in a geopolitical game,” said the Secretary of the Russian Security Council. Meanwhile, according to him, Russia is interested in Ukraine ‘getting rid of neo-Nazism, and the population living in peace and comfort’.

Therefore, according to Mr. Patrushev, ‘all attempts of talks between Russia and Ukraine were thwarted on the instructions of the Kiev regime’s American patrons’.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defence Council on the impossibility of holding negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin commented on this decision and noted that negotiations require the interest of both parties.
