The United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany cannot become neutral mediators in the peace process in Ukraine, since they are involved in the conflict with the Russian Federation – as stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry, RIA Novosti reports

In this way the Russian Foreign Ministry has commented on the proposal of the former head of the Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, to create a contact group on Ukraine in order ‘to launch the peace process’. In his opinion, the US, the UK, France and Germany should be its members.

"Officially, we know nothing about this initiative. Nevertheless, Mr. Ischinger's idea arouses legitimate questions – primarily, because the mentioned four countries are participants in the conflict with Russia, which continues on the territory of Ukraine," the Russian Foreign Ministry said, adding that Washington, London, Paris and Berlin are actively supplying Kiev with weapons and sending mercenaries there, also providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with intelligence data and training Ukrainian military. In addition, they have imposed sanctions against Russia, blocked its foreign assets and are blackmailing its friends, forbidding them to co-operate with Moscow.
