State Border Committee: volunteers convinced that Lithuania is covering up the facts of refugees’ death at the border
Volunteers are sure that Lithuania is hiding the facts of refugees’ death at the border, Belarus’ State Border Committee reports in its Telegram channel
According to the border agency, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland have been pursuing a cruel policy towards refugees since the beginning of the migration crisis. Violence is used against people who are in a vulnerable and often life-threatening situation, and this has repeatedly resulted in foreigners’ death. The European media do not write about what is really happening in the border area. At the same time, caring volunteers and activists continue to help refugees not to freeze and not to die of exhaustion on the other side of the border.
“Polish Grupa Granica constantly reports on hundreds of people who are in the Polish forests or who are missing. A similar humanitarian organisation, Sienos Grupe, supports refugees on the Lithuanian side. Volunteers said today [January 12th] that they helped a foreigner find her husband, who disappeared in August last year. The man was found dead in the Lithuanian forest a few months ago, and his body is still in a Lithuanian morgue. At the same time, it remains extremely dubious that, since the beginning of the migration crisis, the Lithuanian side has never officially reported the facts of refugees’ death on their side," the State Border Committee explained.
A couple of days ago, Lithuania granted the right to its security forces to throw out (leave to die) refugees at the border with tacit consent of the so-called democratic European Commission, the State Border Committee stressed.
