"We will look first at our part of the work. We have begun it. Friends work in Botaş, Epiaş. Our goal has always been to become a gas centre and a trade centre. In principle, an agreement has been reached on negotiations. We initially need to finish the work on our side," Mr. Donmez commented.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia could move gas transit from the Nord Streams to the Black Sea region and Turkey. The Russian President discussed this topic with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders instructed to work out the issue in detail and promptly. The Kremlin stated that the creation of a gas hub in Türkiye meets the interests of the Russian Federation and Türkiye, while Ankara stressed that such a hub is necessary to ensure Europe’s energy security, adding that there will be no losers in the project.
