Professor: Russophobia is weapon of Western ideology

Russophobia is an ideology of Western origin, it is a kind of racism – as stated by Professor Natalya Tanshina, who represents the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the Moscow State Pedagogical University

Ms. Tanshina explained that the concept of ‘Russophobia’ is not academic, it has emerged as a mockery over the panic fear of ‘a Russian threat’, “Russophobia is a weapon, a Western ideology directed against Russians, including Belarusians. A Russian has never had hatred for a representative of another culture just because the latter represents a different culture. We have never talked about the difference between us and Europeans. Moreover, it was announced that Russia and Belarus are the centre of Europe, and a tourist coming to Minsk is actually staying in real Europe – a normal, classical Europe, and not in a Europe it has transformed into in Western countries. However, Europeans have always perceived us as strangers, as enemies.”

According to the professor, Western countries have always sought to create a coalition against Russia, because they considered the war against Russia a civilizational war.

“For example, Napoleon – who had begun a war against Russia – was presented by the European media as an educator,” Ms. Tanshina explained. “Therefore, when hearing today that the attitude of the West towards Russia or Belarus will change, we need to turn to history to understand that it is ineradicable.”
