MTZ boosted production of tractors compared to last year

The Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) has increased the production of tractors compared to last year – as noted by MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk, the official Telegram channel of the enterprise reports

“We have assembled 2,000 more tractors compared to last year: a good result, especially considering that we worked in a difficult environment. We have employed almost 200 more people over last year’s figure, which is also good. In terms of average salaries, in November, MTZ was ranked first among machine building enterprises, bypassing the average salary in Minsk,” said Vitaly Vovk.

He also said that 76 rental apartments are expected to be commissioned next year: 20 in Machulishchi and 56 in the Frunzensky District of Minsk. Moreover, in order to solve the housing issue in 2022, MTZ took on the balance sheet another hostel, which is currently under renovation.

The Director General also touched upon the technical re-equipment of production. “Equipment has arrived at the plant though not everything works the way we want. However, we will lend a shoulder to Belarusian manufacturers in order to eventually get equipment that will meet modern requirements,” Vitaly Vovk stressed.

He set a goal for the next year: MTZ should make modern tractors that would fully meet the needs of consumers, as well as increase production and sales.

As previously reported, almost 36,200 pieces of equipment were manufactured at the Minsk Tractor Works in 2021 – 13.8 percent up compared to 2020.

The Minsk Tractor Works was founded on May 29th, 1946. Today, the enterprise, employing over 16,000 people, is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery in the CIS and worldwide. Customers are offered more than a hundred models of tractors in over two hundred assembly options for all climatic and operating conditions. MTZ JSC is the parent company of the MTZ-HOLDING, which unites ten plants from various regions of Belarus.
