Merkel: lasting peace in Europe can be achieved only with Russia’s participation

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said it is impossible to achieve lasting peace in Europe without the involvement of Moscow, TASS reports

Merkel stressed that so far it has not been possible to achieve peace in Europe.

“The Cold War is not really over yet,” said the ex-head of the German government.

She once again urged European politicians to take Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s statements seriously instead of ‘classifying them as bluff’.

Earlier, Angela Merkel shared her opinion that in the future it will be necessary to work on a common European security architecture. According to the German ex-Chancellor, it should be created with the participation of Russia.
