Lukashenko outlined key areas of Belarus-Russia trade and economic relations

The governments of Belarus and Russia have conducted a serious work on import substitution, but much more still needs to be done – as noted by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his today’s meeting with the Governor of the Lipetsk Region of the Russian Federation, Igor Artamonov

“Technological sovereignty and industrial co-operation are the key areas of Belarusian-Russian trade and economic relations. We need to co-operate today, and we are doing this with Russians,” the President noted.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, other former Soviet republics are also catching up to this trend. “Differently speaking, co-operation is developing. We enjoy a huge positive experience, and we have a good basis for further economic development,” he said.

The Head of State added that Belarus has serious developments in co-operation with the Lipetsk Region, “Our presence at the Lipetsk Tractor Plant could become a powerful starting point. To begin with, we want to launch a joint assembly production of Amkodor machinery there. This brand is well-known in Russia, and it enjoys great demand.”
