Lukashenko: economic sanctions painfully boomerang on their initiators

The economic sanctions imposed by the West painfully boomerang on their initiators – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during a meeting with journalists following the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin

The Head of State recalled that during the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Bishkek, he drew attention to the fact that the West’s primitive stamping of economic sanctions against Belarus and Russia was beginning to fade.

Speaking about the consequences of these restrictions and who is to blame for them, the President noted, “It is important (now it is obvious to everyone) that such restrictions hit their initiators like a boomerang. Moreover, it is by no means the figures who invented these sanctions that suffer, but ordinary people and business. This is on the conscience of those who first unleashed an economic war against our countries, and then a proxy war with Russia at the hands of the Ukrainians.”
