Former Ukrainian official sees his country’s future only in alliance with Russia

The future of Ukraine is possible only in alliance and constructive interaction with Russia, the country should travel different roads with the West – as noted by the people’s deputy of Ukraine of the 5th, 6th, 7th convocations, Honoured Advocate of Ukraine Volodymyr Oliynyk

According to him, after the completion of the Russian special military operation, Ukraine will continue to exist as a state, however, most likely, without the lost territories. Moreover, Volodymyr Oliynyk told which way Ukraine should go in the future.

“Ukraine should join forces with Belarus and Russia, look for possible co-operation, integration, perhaps create an alliance, and think how to revive the economy,” he said.

According to him, Ukraine will have no future if the leadership decides to continue liaisons with the collective West.

“Russia will lend its shoulder to energy, co-operation. <...> Ukraine needs to revive the economy and, together with Belarus and Russia, maintain a common political and economic position, then both China and India will reach out to us, thus bringing investments. Ukraine shouldn’t pander to the West, it is necessary to constantly fight with it,” Volodymyr Oliynyk underlined.
