Expert: Ukraine is tool to boost US economy

Ukraine is a tool of the United States, with which Americans are strengthening their economy at the expense of funds allocated to Kiev – as stated by Aleksei Avdonin, an expert at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, in his talk with Alfa Radio

According to Mr. Avdonin, European countries are now beginning to doubt that their investments in Ukraine will produce any result. “What is the reason for this doubt?” he wondered. “This is because no matter how much money Europe invests, there is corruption in Ukraine. As a result, money does not produce the desired result – simply being stolen, in short. Only 5-7 percent reach the final purchase. Moreover, note that Americans have already begun to justify themselves to their taxpayers and say that no money went to Ukraine: 90 percent of all investments went to US defence corporations and did not leave the country – thus being directed to the economy. This means that Ukraine was chosen as a tool to boost the US economy. Differently speaking, Ukraine is just a means through which these funds are transferred, and this makes it possible to take money from the state budget for defence – an industry that contributes to the strengthening of the entire economy.”

The expert also shared his views on Europe's position with regard to the financial assistance to Ukraine. “They [in the EU] also hoped that their defence companies would start to boost due to investments in Ukraine. However, a different effect – the key one – was produced: Europeans were deceived! They thought that the money that would come from the United States for the alleged military purposes of Ukraine would be directed, among other things, to European defence corporations. Why did Europe support the project to militarise Ukraine? That happened because some circles tied to corporations in Europe hoped that they would receive support from Americans. However, the latter once again deceived Europeans, sending them no money. As a result, they refuse now to supply weapons to Ukraine for some empty bills, they admit that they have understood the deception: ‘we send weapons but receive no money’, they say. The only way out seems to be to write debts off, but they understand that they will not receive money from Ukraine, the United States, or the United Kingdom. They were simply severely cheated, and Europe now keeps thinking of what to do in this situation,” Mr. Avdonin said.
