Expert: Europe, the US admitted the war in Ukraine is their way out of economic crisis

Aleksei Avdonin, an expert at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, explained who ‘economists of the apocalypse’ are, and how they make money on wars

In his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, the expert noted, “Blinken's statements in December, the Pentagon’s in November and Macron’s in January clearly articulated, “The war in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world is the basis for overcoming the economic crisis for us. Our industry is growing, and the level of industrialisation is increasing." Some media have already called them ‘economists of the apocalypse’, since they openly say, "That's great. We are earning much money, and – importantly – we are solving the problems that have been overdue since the last financial and economic crisis of 2008." The most interesting thing is that, in 2019, a number of American publications turned to simple, non-public economists, gathering about 50 powerful analysts. They were asked to analyse what will happen to the global economy and, in particular, to the US economy in 2019-2020, and they said another crisis was brewing, larger in scale than the one in 2008. They also noted that extraordinary measures should be taken. Most importantly, the bottom line of their assumption was classified, but we now see what was decided then: the beginning of the war and making money on it.”
