Constitutional amendments proposed by President supported by 82.86% of those coming to polling stations

The Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on Elections and Holding Republican Referenda published the preliminary results of the referendum

According to preliminary data, 5,359,471 people, or 78.63 percent of the citizens included in the voting lists, took part in the referendum.

4,440,813 people, or 82.86 percent of those who came to the polling stations, voted in favour of amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which is 65.16 percent of the total number of those included in the voting lists. Meanwhile, 686,165 people or 10.07 percent of the total number of citizens included in the voting lists didn’t support the proposed changes.
