“On the sidelines of the World Youth Festival 2024, the BRSM signed a number of co-operation agreements. This proves that youth diplomacy really knows no boundaries. The festival did not end, but on the contrary, it became the beginning of a long journey with our friendly countries. Thus, we signed a co-operation agreement with the youth of Cuba. The meeting was very warm. We have outlined the main aspects of interaction. We intend to develop a plan of joint activities in the future and fully join this agenda,” Yekaterina Lakisova noted.

In addition, an agreement on co-operation with Russian student groups was signed. Yekaterina Lakisova clarified that it was prolonged.

“We have been working productively together for 14 years. Young people from the Russian Federation come to Belarus, and our young people go to construction sites and other youth projects of student groups in Russia. In the next five years, we plan to develop and multiply this co-operation. Another agreement was our friendship with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). We have been friends for a very long time and have been co-operating fruitfully with each other, but this is the first time such an agreement has been signed. It will help to structure and systematise the joint actions of the two countries,” Yekaterina Lakisova added.

The festival also saw a number of bilateral meetings at which Belarus discussed joint projects with various countries, including China, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
