Germany proposed to reduce payments to Ukrainian refugees

Bavarian Interior State Minister Joachim Herrmann has proposed reducing payments to Ukrainian refugees by €100 – as reported by the German magazine Focus

Joachim Herrmann said that instead of the national unemployment benefit of €563, internally displaced persons from Ukraine should be paid €460 as asylum seekers.

It is noted that this recalculation will help save the federal budget approximately €840m per year.

At the same time, it is noted that the ruling political forces of Germany have so far reacted negatively to this initiative.
