Volfovich said border units are in first line of hybrid war unleashed against Belarus

At an extended meeting of the State Border Committee board, State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich said that the United States and its allies have unleashed a hybrid war against Belarus and we have border units in the first line – as reported by the State Border Committee in its Telegram channel

Speaking to the participants of the board, Aleksandr Volfovich noted that last year the border service agencies, like all security structures, carried out tasks in difficult geopolitical conditions.

The State Secretary noted, “Actually, the United States and its allies have launched a hybrid war. We definitely feel the political pressure that our country experiences together with Russia, economic sanctions, sabre-rattling near our borders, military presence, and aggressive rhetoric. In this regard, our border units are in the first line, aiming primarily to prevent unwanted persons, illegal armed groups from entering the country, and to suppress the delivery of drugs, weapons, and ammunition. Today we have no right to make a mistake, as it will cost our country too much. This was also accentuated by the Head of State when approving the decision to protect the state border.”

The board members summed up the operational and other works of the border service authorities over the past year and identified priority areas for 2024. The session was attended by Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Neverovsky, Chairman of the State Border Committee Konstantin Molostov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky, and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Aleksandr Markevich, as well as senior staff of the border department and military units.
