Uzbekistan interested in creating Belarusian service facilities

During his talks with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in an expanded format, Belarus’ Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko made a statement

The Head of State noted that the creation of service facilities in Uzbekistan is a profitable area of co-operation, “If necessary, we will establish service centres. We have complex maintenance facilities – i.e. of MAZ, BELAZ, MTZ that are part of the Industry Ministry. We will organise everything we sell under one roof, for example, in Tashkent or some other city.”

“That would be great. It would be a good experience: a company is treated differently if a maintenance facility operates. You are right to say: we have five Belarus-branded tractors out of ten at present," Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported.

“There should be seven out of ten [Belarus-made vehicles],” Aleksandr Lukashenko added with a smile. “Therefore, all that is needed is to make a decision now. I think our ministers and the ambassador should tell us frankly where these decisions are needed. However, as I see, it’s your [members of the two states’ governments] mistake that we have underperformed in some aspects. The decisions have been made, so we should be more persistent.”
