Ukraine announces receipt of long-range missiles for HIMARS
Kiev will soon start receiving missiles for American multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) with a greater range than they had before – as informed by the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Aleksei Danilov, TASS reports
Answering the question whether Ukraine would receive missiles with a range of up to 300km, he said ‘there is already some understanding that we have begun receiving missiles with a greater range than we had before’, also expressing hope for even more long-range missiles would be delivered.
On July 13th, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Fedor Venislavsky, said that Kiev was ‘at all levels’ negotiating with Washington to provide Ukraine with missiles for the HIMARS MLRS with a range of 300km. In turn, Ukraine’ Defence Minister Aleksei Reznikov noted that relevant requests had been sent long time ago.
