UK is predicted worsening of crisis due to strikes

The UK will face numerous strikes by workers across a range of sectors and the protest wave is unlikely to subside in the near future – as noted by Aleksandr Khabarov, a correspondent for the Vesti programme in London

He noted that the British government still cannot resolve the issue of mass strikes. According to him, British PM Rishi Sunak is also unable to offer anything specific.

“There are attempts to resolve the current issues related to inflation, relations with the EU... Almost the whole of December was filled with strikers. The British were forced to adapt to this schedule, because the question of how to get to work and then how to return back home was very relevant. It was not clear what worked and what did not work,” Aleksandr Khabarov drew attention.

The speaker said that the situation with the strikes in the UK is heating up.

“It came to strikes in vital areas, such as healthcare. Nurses took to the protests, followed by ambulance workers. This is serious enough. Strikers are increasingly talking about how they can co-ordinate their actions. While these were different days so far, but it can happen on the same day, then the crisis can worsen. It all depends on how the Cabinet of Ministers will act. If they can find a compromise and extinguish this wave, they will cope with it,” Aleksandr Khabarov believes.
