UAE, Turkiye, China were main buyers of Russian gold in 2022

The United Arab Emirates, Turkiye and China became key importers of Russian gold, Reuters reports

According to the publication, the volume of imports of Russian gold by the UAE reached 75.7 tonnes worth $4.3bn in 2022. Turkiye and China also noticeably increased their imports – buying 20 tonnes each from February 24th, 2022 to March 3rd, 2023.

Accordingly, Russia exported a total of 116.3 tonnes of metal, and 99.8 percent of imports accounted for the UAE, Turkiye and China.
