Sweden said it will allocate $490m to Ukraine for its restoration

Sweden plans to allocate $490m to restore Ukraine to prepare it for EU membership, TASS reports


Swedish International Development Cooperation Minister Johan Forsell said, “This is the largest and most ambitious bilateral strategy that Sweden has ever presented. It aims to prepare Ukraine for EU membership in the long term by strengthening the country.”

He also said that Sweden will allocate money for housing, social infrastructure, energy, trade and employment.

Since February 2022, Sweden has reportedly allocated $2.16bn to Ukraine, of which $1.67bn is military aid.
