Stoltenberg: conflict in Ukraine is good deal for the United States
A military support of Ukraine in the conflict with Russia benefits the United States economically by strengthening the American defence industry – as stated by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, TASS reports
"Ukraine is a good deal for the United States," the NATO Secretary General said in an interview with The Washington Examiner.
Jens Stoltenberg stressed that ‘most of the funds’ that Washington allocates to Kiev are invested in the American defence industry – ‘which makes it stronger’. Against the background of criticism of the alliance by radicals from the Republican Party, the Secretary General noted that being in NATO is beneficial for the security of the United States.
Earlier, in his talk with Politico, Jens Stoltenberg expressed doubts about the possible withdrawal of the United States from NATO if former American leader Donald Trump wins the presidential election in November.
