Shpilevskaya: Lukashenko’s entire presidency is a story of peace and creation

The Year of Peace and Creation is coming to an end. However, peace and creation reigned in Belarus not only in 2023. Aleksandr Lukashenko’s entire presidency has been a story of peace and creation – as noted by Olga Shpilevskaya, the Director of the Mir TV and Radio Company representative office in Belarus and Chairperson of the Belarusian Women’s Union, in her talk with Alfa Radio.

Belarus once acquired a leader who ensured a peaceful and calm life in the country.

“God took care of Belarus: a leader appeared who did not surrender, did not sell, did not ruin either his people or his country. Step by step he was building, restoring and creating. Therefore, the entire time Aleksandr Lukashenko has been in power is a story of peace and creation. 2023 was a difficult year on the outer contour, but everything was fine inside. We are warm, well-fed, and our children go to school. These true values – at least for every woman who is a mother or wife – are very important. Let it continue like this. This is the most important thing that I want to wish Belarusians in 2024,” noted Olga Shpilevskaya.

She expressed hope that in the Year of Quality, Belarusians will begin to value themselves and what they do more, “We need to understand that we, Belarusians, are of high quality, we are necessary, we are important. Let’s all do our job in such a way that we won’t be ashamed to put a quality mark on it. We must learn to be proud of it, to do it in such a way that it is of the highest quality. I think we’ll definitely succeed.”

The Chairperson of the Belarusian Women’s Union also touched upon the topic of Belarus’ geopolitical role, “Our small country, blown by all the winds, with a unique history, manages to maintain peace and tranquility. Moreover, we declare ourselves as a platform where peace agreements are signed. We’re ready to accept any side ensuring conflicts to end only in peace. Belarus is a platform for peace and creation. This is our mission.”

Olga Shpilevskaya underlined that the President of Belarus does not live only in the present moment, but thinks deeply about the future, “Aleksandr Lukashenko is a wise politician with extensive experience. He understands what integration processes it is important and necessary for our country to participate in. That’s why we are moving step by step, year after year, towards building a single economic space within the EAEU. The trade turnover of the EAEU member states is growing, with economy working for the benefit of the people of each country. Therefore, it is clear that the EAEU is the future. The CIS also has equally good prospects, our President said. And we are gradually, very carefully moving forward.”
