Scholz: EU to discuss support for Kiev against possible prolongation of the conflict
Participants of the EU summit will discuss further assistance to Ukraine in view of the possible prolongation of the conflict – as noted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, RIA Novosti reports
As Scholz said, the EU member states should pay special attention to further assistance to Kiev in the special operation.
“This is also important because we need to tune in to the fact that this [Ukrainian conflict] can last a long time,” the German Chancellor stressed on the eve of the meeting of EU heads of state in Brussels.
He shared his opinion that the EU should be ready to support the Ukrainian side as long as needed. This includes both financial and humanitarian aid.
Earlier, Scholz said that he hopes for Beijing’s influence on Moscow in the Ukrainian issue.
