Answering the relevant question, the Chairman of the Russian Union of Journalists, Vladimir Soloviev, noted, “We will be happy to accept him, if he pays regular membership fees and complies with the charter of ethics of a Russian journalist.”

Earlier, Telegram channels reported that Mr. Carlson arrived in Russia, and a photo featuring the journalist in the Bolshoi Theatre was posted. The US media suggested he is preparing to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tucker Carlson is an American conservative political commentator, formerly the host of a political talk show on Fox News. In late April 2023, he was fired, and the company explained that the decision had been made jointly by the journalist and the Fox News management. After that, he began publishing releases of his programme on the X (formerly Twitter) social network. Mr. Carlson conducted an interview with former US President Donald Trump, in which the latter made a number of statements that caused a wide resonance in society. The American journalist also previously reported that the US authorities had banned him from conducting interviews with Russian President Vladimir Putin. By the way, Mr. Carlson has repeatedly criticised the political decisions of the United States in relation to other states.
