Russian governor: Belarus’ goods in Primorsky Krai replace products of unfriendly countries

The supply of Belarusian goods to Russia’s Primorsky Krai has increased significantly, thus replacing the products of those countries that have become unfriendly to us – as noted by Primorsky Krai Governor Oleg Kozhemyako during his meeting with the Belarusian delegation led by Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi

“Trade turnover between Belarus and the Primorsky Krai has increased significantly, reaching 22bn Russian Roubles (about $240m),” Oleg Kozhemyako underlined, adding that once the partners started with less than 1bn Russian Roubles.

“We are pleased with a 30-percent growth in exports of our goods,” noted the Primorsky Krai Governor. “We continue working to open a single centre for servicing Belarusian equipment. We also operate the Primorsky wholesale distribution centre for Belarusian goods. Of course, supplies of equipment from MAZ, MTZ, Gomselmash, and AMKODOR are of great importance to us.”

Oleg Kozhemyako said that due to the established interaction between Gomeldrev and partners in the Primorsky Krai, work is now underway to set up a joint venture to assemble Belarusian furniture in the Far East.

“It is a great joy for us that Belarus wants to open a Consulate General in the Primorsky Krai instead of an embassy branch; this is a significant moment, expanding opportunities for our co-operation. Of course, today the Primorsky Krai is an outpost of Russia in interaction with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Belarus’ presence here is also of great importance. The cargo from China to Belarus goes through our ports and this trade turnover is also crucial for us, strengthening our economy and enabling our ports and railways to operate. Therefore, I think that you can also consider the Primorsky Krai as an outpost of the Union State in the Far East and rely entirely on the programmes that we have,” summed up the Russian governor.
