Rada of Ukraine: new military coalition on armoured vehicles began operating jointly with the West

A ‘coalition of armoured vehicles’ has begun working in Ukraine with the participation of Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Italy – as posted by Danil Getmantsev, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, in his Telegram channel, RIA Novosti reports

Mr. Getmantsev explained that the coalition is tasked to strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the field of armoured equipment, direct supplies of vehicles and ammunition for them, as well as their repair and maintenance. “Another ‘military coalition’ of Ukraine's partners has become operational. This time it is a ‘coalition of armoured vehicles’, the founding meeting of which participants took place in Warsaw,” he stated.

Previously, The Financial Times reported that the coalition of eleven countries – according to the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, it includes Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom – will launch F-16 fighter jet training for Ukrainian pilots.

Ukraine and its Western partners have repeatedly informed about the creation of such coalitions, whose work was aimed at solving issues of logistical support for the Ukrainian army. Among them are the artillery, tank and long-range weapons coalitions.

Russia claims that Western arms supplies to Ukraine hinder the settlement of the conflict and directly involve NATO allies into it, being actually ‘a game with fire’. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo with weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
