Political expert on main reason for the split between Germany and Poland

The Greater Poland idea (often known by its Polish name Wielkopolska), which a significant part of the Polish leadership has recently been obsessed with, deepens the split between Warsaw and Berlin – as noted by journalist and political scientist Aleksandr Sosnovsky

The expert explained that if the Wielkopolska idea is implemented, Germany will be cut off from the East.

“The Poles have long wanted to implement a plan to create a Wielkopolska state from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. The Germans are very well aware of these intentions. If this plan is carried out, Germany will be cut off from the East. It will turn into a kind of buffer zone between Poland and the rest of Europe. Therefore, Germany will try wherever possible to crush the Polish influence which means that at the same time Germany will be forced to oppose the Anglo-Saxons,” said Aleksandr Sosnovsky.

According to the political scientist, this primarily concerns the UK, since the United Kingdom and Poland ‘are one thing’.

“Germany will try to find its own line against these two states and will be joined by France, which has drastically lost its importance in recent times. France would not like to become a partner of Germany, because it itself claims a leading role in Europe, but now there is no other way out. Thus, today’s division of the European Union goes along several axes,” stated the expert.
