Opinion: Poland plans to replace Germany as EU’s top power

Poland lacks resources to replace Germany as the first power of the European Union, so it turns to the United States for help – as stated by Vadim Gigin, the Chairman of the Board of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, in his talk with Alfa Radio

The expert explained why the Polish authorities view the United States as the main partner in this matter, “They want to replace Germany as the first power of the European Union – thus changing the Paris–Berlin axis for the Paris–Warsaw one.”

According to Mr. Gigin, a military adventure is being prepared in Poland. “During a conversation with journalists in Khatyn and a recent meeting on security issues, the President of Belarus provided a good analysis of what is happening and what course the Polish authorities are pursuing. Poland’s Law and Justice party will soon face elections, and it will lose if the situation goes the usual way, and if it has to bear responsibility for the politics, primarily domestic, and the difficulties that citizens of the country face. Accordingly, a military adventure is need. Chauvinistic sentiments, militarisation of society and escalation of a military threat are now in full swing, and these are supplemented by a desire to demonstrate to the imperialist circles of Poland the possibility of expanding its zone of influence at the expense of Ukraine, overthrowing the leadership in Belarus and bringing puppets to power. By taking a number of steps, they [Polish authorities] hope that these political and military adventures will enable them to mobilise their electorate and Poles, who may be dissatisfied with the internal policy of the current government, but at the same time support – as it seems to them – the growth of Poland's power," he stated.
