"It should be noted that in order to preserve its imaginary hegemony, the United States continues to provoke tension and instability in the Asia-Pacific region," Mr. Patrushev said in Magadan at a meeting on the security issues in the Russian Far East. According to him, Washington is ‘unceremoniously expanding the military infrastructure, bringing it closer to the borders of Russia and China’.

Mr. Patrushev recalled that the United States has formed a military alliance – AUKUS (the US, the UK, Australia), and is also considering the possibility of supplying weapons to Taiwan and creating a new alliance of the ‘Pacific Four’: the US, Japan, Australia, and Philippines.
