“On September 27th, at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorised Bodies in the Field of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population of the EAEU, the issue of COVID-19 related epidemiological situation in the member states was studied. According to the information provided by chief sanitary doctors, a decrease in morbidity is registered in Kazakhstan, while the situation remains unstable in other countries. Taking into account the progress of vaccination in the Eurasian Economic Union states and also an increase in the number of people with natural immunity acquired as a result of the disease, one of the priority tasks is to restore passenger transportation between the countries in full – to meet the pre-COVID level. With this in view, in autumn, transport links between Russia and Belarus are being fully restored,” she said at a briefing.

Ms. Malkina recalled that a draft instruction aimed at expanding opportunities for cross-border movement of citizens between the Union states by all means of transport is to be studied at a meeting of the EEC Council scheduled for October 5th.
