Opinion: West not gone far from what Nazi Germany preached

While the West is beginning to compare peoples and decide on which of them are more developed, Belarus’ position is wiser and more humane, and it also has a greater potential to become a unifying concept of Eurasia – as stated by political expert Vadim Borovik

“Our partners in the West have not gone far from what Nazi Germany preached. The country considered its race exceptional and imposed that ideology on others, which eventually led to WWII, the suffering of millions of people, and the collapse of Nazi Germany as a result,” the expert confirmed the tendency outlined recently by the Head of State. “This is exactly what Western countries are doing today, placing their goals in beautiful wrappers of universal human rights, democratic values, the struggle for freedom and other things. In fact, all this is a tool to achieve specific goals: a control over the international financial and political systems, and a geopolitical control. Actually, they are interested only in money and power, as well as the reconstruction of the world according to the scenario of the world elites who control these processes. Through a control of the financial system and international trade, as well as a sufficiently powerful military potential, these ‘values’ are imposed on others. At the same time, cultural peculiarities, specifics of socio-economic and political development are not taken into account. Moreover, an important fact is also neglected: each nation is not always ready to perceive certain values at a certain historical stage.”

In October 2022, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, commented on the foreign policy idea of unification, comparing Europe to a garden, and the rest of the world to a jungle. Mr. Borovik noted the cynicism of that statement, “It was made by a representative of the European Union, on the territory of which concentration camps were built, millions of Slavs and Jews were destroyed, and the Nazi ideology grew to an incredible scale. Why do Belarusians always speak quite tolerantly and understandingly about other peoples? This is because we have experienced for ourselves what segregation leads to. While the West is beginning to compare peoples and decide on which of them are more developed, Belarus’ position is wiser and more humane, and it has a greater potential to become a unifying concept of Eurasia.”

“We aim to follow the traditions peculiar to certain peoples, to take into account their national and cultural features, and to respect them. However, such a difference in approaches should not be an obstacle to trade, economic, political or other co-operation. We are ready for such liaisons, and we even respect human rights more than those in the West, since our partners in Europe and the United States declare that they do not intend to take into account other peoples’ cultural features, the level of development of production means, and the historical path. Actually, they turn a blind eye to any regime, when it is profitable for them,” the expert continued.

Mr. Borovik concluded, “Therefore, we must understand that the theory of superiority in the development of democracy, human rights and other universal principles is in many ways similar to what Hitler once said about the superiority of the Aryan race and their ideology.

The modern West already says: if you do not support our ideology, then the NATO bloc – acting as a shock fist of this ‘garden of Eden’ – has the right to make appropriate decisions and punish peoples, destroying their political leadership and states. Meanwhile, we should follow our own path, and we have all rights for our opinion to be taken into account. We will develop our politics, economy, and social sphere only in the way that is beneficial to our people. Importantly, we are able not only to declare our interests, but also to defend them.

No one from outside, including from this ‘garden of Eden’, will impose their policy on us. We will build it exclusively in accordance with our national interests – while demonstrating the highest level of respect and tolerance for all peoples and cultures. At the same time, we will not allow anyone to talk to us from a position of strength. After all, our ‘mentors’ destroyed every third Belarusian! Residents of the ‘garden of Eden’ should not give orders, but kneel in Khatyn and ask for forgiveness from the Belarusian people.”
