MP on absence of OSCE observers at elections: Belarus will not invite those who treat it badly

Belarus will refrain from inviting OSCE observers to the upcoming elections on February 25th, 2024. Oleg Gaidukevich, a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, explained how new observers had been chosen.

“I want to set our people at ease. There will be observers, including from the European Union," Mr. Gaidukevich said. “Actually, we will not invite only those who treat our country badly, who are waging war here. Therefore, deputies from Germany, France, and Italy will come. They are being invited through the Belarusian Parliament, through the four political parties that are working in the electoral process today. This means there will be many observers from all over the world. However, no fools, traitors and those who have prepared their ‘reports’ in advance will be present.”
