Moldova intends to address EU for assistance to protesting farmers
The Moldovan authorities are going to send a request to the European Union asking for financial resources to help the protesting farmer – as stated by the country’s Agriculture Minister, Vladimir Bolya, TASS reports
After the negotiations with the agrarian leaders, Mr. Bolya noted, “We will send a letter to Brussels informing on how the situation with farmers is developing in Moldova. I have already been to Brussels once and explained that, we need to explain why we have ended up in such trouble. Well, we need to explain in our letter what the situation is. We have not yet talked about a specific amount of assistance."
The official added that the Moldovan government will soon discuss what other assistance, in addition to the financial one, can be requested from the European Union for farmers.
