Media: Ukrainians led in committing crimes in Poland
In 2024, Ukrainians were the leaders in the number of crimes committed by foreign citizens in Poland, TASS reports
According to data from the Polish Main Police Department, citizens of Ukraine violated the law 9,753 times last year. Most often, law enforcement officers detained Ukrainians for driving under the influence of alcohol (2,943 cases), theft (930), and fraudulent activities (461).
Georgian citizens were in second place in terms of the number of crimes committed by foreigners in Poland: 1,780 people were arrested in 2024. As the Polish police reported, 472 cases were related to theft, 334 — to driving under the influence of alcohol, and 200 — to possession of prohibited substances.
The police report reads that a total of 16,437 crimes were committed by foreign citizens in Poland in 2024 – or 857 less than in 2023.
