Media: Pentagon said US lags behind China in weapons production

Politico reported that the Pentagon is warning that the United States is lagging behind China in weapons production, RIA Novosti reports

The Pentagon said the US defence industrial base ‘does not possess the capacity, capability, responsiveness, or resilience required to satisfy the full range of military production needs at speed and scale’.

The publication reports that the US could not produce its ‘world’s best weapons fast enough’. It is also noted that China has spent the past 30 years becoming a ‘global industrial powerhouse’ in shipbuilding, critical minerals and microelectronics, with Chinese industry now ‘vastly exceeding the capacities of not just the US but the combined output of its key European and Asia allies’.
