Media: France, Greece and Spain want to set age limits on social networks

France, Spain and Greece are planning to introduce mandatory age restrictions for social network users, RIA Novosti reports

Bloomberg, referring to a document in its possession, informs that the ministers of digital technologies of these countries are co-ordinating their actions ahead of a meeting with their counterparts from other EU countries, which is expected to take place on June 6th. The rules they are developing may require developers of Internet-enabled devices to provide age verification technologies.

It is also emphasised that these countries are willing to use economic measures to force technology companies to implement effective age verification mechanisms for teenagers.
