Lukashenko getting acquainted with Belarusian State University activities
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is visiting the Belarusian State University today – to get acquainted with its exhibition of scientific and educational activities, to be reported on the BSU place and role in the system of higher education, as well as on the state and prospects of its development
The Belarusian State University is a large educational, research and production complex, which unites 16 faculties, 11 educational institutes, 4 research institutes and 2 national research centres, 6 innovative production enterprises, and a sci-tech park.
In accordance with the updated Education Code, BSU launched training specialists in 68 specialties of bachelor's degree programmes, 7 specialties of continuing educational programmes, 48 specialties and 78 profiles of master's degree programmes in 2023.
More than 24 thousand students and undergraduates study at the Belarusian State University, including about 4,000 foreign citizens from 62 countries (their number has increased by 71 percent since 2018).
The educational process at BSU is provided by more than 3 thousand lecturers, including 5 academicians, 11 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, over 200 doctors of sciences and professors, and about a thousand candidates of sciences.
