Lukashenko: both Belarus and Russia are open to any friendly steps towards

Both Belarus and Russia are open to any friendly steps towards them – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during today’s requiem concert in St. Petersburg dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade, BelTA reports

“We’re peaceful people. We do not want war. But we are again faced with the question of the right to life of our civilisation, to the preservation of primordial values and national cultures. We do not need someone else’s, especially those benefits that were repeatedly implanted in our ancestors with fire and sword. And yet, both after the Victory and today, we call for a peaceful dialogue on the condition that our historical memory and the truth about that war are respected. Both Russia and Belarus are open to any friendly steps towards,” the Belarusian Head of State underlined.

He recalled that eighty years ago, the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad made the Great Victory even closer. “We have to celebrate many anniversaries of great battles that ultimately stopped the most brutal war in the history of mankind,” added Aleksandr Lukashenko.
