Lukashenko: Belarus, Russia must create their own happiness

Belarus and Russia must create their own happiness – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his talks with Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan

In particular, the Head of State underlined, “Maybe it’s good that external circumstances pushed us towards each other. We stopped arguing for no reason and finally realised that, actually, we have very few friends (and maybe no real ones at all) and that we must create our happiness ourselves. We started doing this. We succeed, but more efforts are needed.”

The Belarusian leader has no doubt that everything will work out; we just need time.

Tatarstan is close to Belarus, being one of the most developed Russian territories. “Its level of development is no lower than that of Belarus,” the President of Belarus asserted.

Tatarstan is a high-tech and industrial republic, which achieved GDP growth of almost 4 percent last year.

“This is worth a lot, because the share of industry is very high which means great competition,” stated Aleksandr Lukashenko.

With the departure of Western companies, companies from other countries are entering the Russian market, and therefore both Russian and Belarusian manufacturers need to compete with dignity.

“We want to liaise with you, because this is a high level of development. People understand that controllability is very high and that there is a managerial approach. This is a peasant vein, coming from the earth. We understand what controllability is, and what could happen if we lose it,” noted the Belarusian leader.

The Head of State stressed that Belarus intends to continue to co-operate with Tatarstan, and both sides can do a lot together, “I guarantee that there will be no problems on our part, if we agree.”

“There is no doubt about it. You, Aleksandr Grigorievich, are an example for us,” assured Rustam Minnikhanov.
