Belarus is fulfilling and even exceeding its commitments in developing co-operation with Russia — as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, BelTA reports
The President of Belarus noted that the meeting with the Russian Prime Minister had been planned for a long time and is taking place ahead of the scheduled negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin the following day. “We will discuss many issues with him,” he said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his gratitude to Mikhail Mishustin and the Russian Government for their impeccable fulfilment of obligations towards Belarus.
“I believe you have no complaints against Belarus either. I want to publicly confirm that everything we have planned is underway and will be completed: from small items like fuel — diesel, different kinds of gasoline, and so forth — to food supplies. We are meeting our commitments and even exceeding them. You can be certain of that. This extends to significant systemic issues within the framework of our union, within the EAEU,” the Belarusian leader emphasised.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Mikhail Mishustin is anticipated to visit Belarus in early October. During this period, the Union State Council of Ministers and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meetings are planned. At the same time, Minsk will also host the 2nd INNOPROM. Belarus International Industrial Trade Fair.
“We have a number of events specifically arranged for Mikhail Mishustin. You definitely need to come,” the President of Belarus extended the invitation.
Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned that he recently met in Minsk with Denis Manturov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government. “We had a substantive discussion that went beyond just industry; we also talked in depth about the economies of our countries. We reaffirmed our joint projects in both aviation and the military-industrial sector. We achieved complete mutual understanding on all issues.”
The Head of State expressed his satisfaction with the strong connections and relations established between Mikhail Mishustin and his Belarusian counterpart, Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin. “Former Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi [who is now the Head of the Belarus President Administration] remains actively involved in our agenda. I understand you have a good personal relationship,” the Belarusian leader added.
