Lavrov explained why Ukraine situation failed to be resolved peacefully
The situation around Ukraine was not resolved peacefully since the West did not want it – as stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an exclusive interview with RBC
"This is not about Ukraine at all – or, to be more correct, not so much about Ukraine but about the world law and order. The United States has taken over the whole of Europe. This is an epochal moment in modern history. It reflects the battle for what the world order will look like," Mr. Lavrov said.
According to him, the western countries have invented the ‘world order based on certain rules’ term. "These rules were written in a narrow circle. In parallel, narrow, informal structures were created. There is humanitarian law and a special UN office. Meanwhile, the European Union has created special partnership on the same issue where decisions are made without taking into account the international community,” the Russian Foreign Minister added.
"You asked why it had become impossible to solve everything peacefully. We have been proposing to solve it in peace for many and many years," Mr. Lavrov emphasised.
