Krutoi: Belarus’ exports to Russia up by 9.1% to reach $25bn in 2023
Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi held this year’s first meeting of the interdepartmental working group to monitor the situation with supplies to Russia via videoconference, discussing the achieved indicators, points of growth and directions for solving problems with the leadership of government bodies, organisations and enterprises – as reported by the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Russia
Dmitry Krutoi highlighted Belarus’ exports to the Russian Federation in 2023, noting their record parameters.
“Our overall growth rate of exports to Russia is 109.1 percent, [reaching] a historical figure of $25bn. For those commodity items, as we call ‘net exports’ (excluding oil, petroleum products and potash fertilisers), we have a growth rate of 107.9 percent. The task was 106.5 percent, i.e., it was fulfilled,” he said.
During the meeting, participants tackled in detail the supply of food products to Russia and the efforts of each regional executive committee in the field of exports of key commodity items.
“So far, the Mogilev Region successes in the development of the Primorsky wholesale distribution centre in the Far East are obvious. There are already 13 of our manufacturers working here, who have supplied goods $4.2m of goods,” noted the Belarusian embassy’s press service.
Successes were also noted in co-operation with Gazprom in the gasification of Russian regions. Organisations of Belarus’ Energy Ministry are implementing projects in the Smolensk Region and are working on similar ones in the Leningrad Region. The potential for co-operation with Russian state corporations was noted.
“Rosatom, Rostec, and other giants of Russian business are ready to finance import-substituting projects to suit their needs,” the press service underlined.
