Kochanova in favour of creation of Youth Scientific Society of Belarus and China

The desire to exchange the best practices in the field of youth policy is the key to the harmonious development of Belarusian-Chinese relations: if young people are friends, then their countries will be friends as well – as stated by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalya Kochanova, at a round table session on youth policy of Belarus and China held via videoconferencing

“The youth policy is among the key directions of Belarus’ social policy, and we are guided by the understanding that an organic system of youth development and education contributes to strengthening civil harmony, overcoming spiritual and moral crises, creating conditions for the prosperity of the state and the well-being of its citizens,” Ms. Kochanova said. “The development strategy of the Belarusian state youth policy until 2030 envisages that the improvement of the quality of the national education system and the training of qualified personnel are among the priority directions.”

According to Ms. Kochanova, the implementation of a significant initiative — Year of Belarus' Education in China – has become an important stage of the Belarusian-Chinese co-operation. She stressed, “We consider digital education, student exchanges, joint educational programmes, inter-university co-operation, the study of the Chinese language in educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian language in higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China, the creation of an association of higher education institutions of Belarus and China to be promising areas. To develop the main areas of scientific activity of young researchers of our two countries, we propose to consider the possibility of creating the Youth Scientific Society of Belarus and China as a single platform providing additional opportunities for scientific, technical and innovative co-operation.”
