Jinping: Cold War ideology flourishing in the world

The distortion of international standards on the planet has become commonplace, and the same can be said about the indulgence of some countries in international conflicts – as stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping in a written message for the APEC Summit in Bangkok, RIA Novosti reports

The message – which text has been distributed by the Chinese Foreign Ministry – reads that food, energy and debt crises are emerging in the world at the same time, while the socio-economic development of many countries faces serious difficulties.

"Factors of instability and uncertainty are enhancing globally, and the ideology of the Cold War, hegemonism, unilateralism and protectionism is flourishing. Distortion of international standards, disruption of economic ties, pandering to international conflicts, hindering development and co-operation are already commonplace, challenging peace and development in the Asia–Pacific region," Xi Jinping said.

The Chinese leader added that the overall situation in the Asia-Pacific region can be described as stable. “Regional co-operation is constantly yielding new results. Peaceful development and mutually beneficial liaisons remain the leitmotif," Xi Jinping added.
